About NSS

Social service units (NSS, YRC, UBA) and Red Ribbon club attempts to create awareness among students on global/world issues so that the students sense the societal needs and become responsible in rendering services to society. These social service units give opportunity to students to think out of the box and initiate compassion towards the society.

Objectives

• Understand the community in which they work
• Understand themselves in relation to their community
• Identify the needs and problems of the community and involve them in problem-solving
• Develop among themselves a sense of social and civic responsibility
• Utilise their knowledge in finding practical solutions to individual and community problems
• Develop competence required for group-living and sharing of responsibilities
• Gain skills in mobilising community participation
• Acquire leadership qualities and democratic attitudes
• Develop capacity to meet emergencies and natural disasters and
• packractise national integration and social harmony

Moto

The motto of the National Service Scheme (NSS) is "Not Me But You," which emphasizes the importance of selfless service and the idea that individual welfare depends on the welfare of society as a whole. This motto reflects the core values of democratic living, requiring volunteers to consider others' points of view and show consideration for their fellow human beings.
