Green Building

The programme on “Green Building” focused on sustainable and eco-friendly construction practices. It explained how green buildings save energy, reduce water use, and minimize waste. Students learned about the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) and its rating systems. Examples of projects like Suzlon Energy Limited and Rajiv Gandhi International Airport were discussed. The session highlighted environmental, economic, and social benefits of green buildings. It encouraged engineers to adopt green technologies in future construction projects. Overall, the programme promoted awareness of sustainable development in civil engineering.
